Radish is not so popular, yet an amazing vegetable which is eaten by one and all,most liked in summers where it is usually eaten raw sprinkled with salt and other spices to flavor.
It comes in variety of shapes, sizes and color and is known to be a very healthy vegetable, found with rich source of folic acid, ascorbic acid and potassium and is also a good source of vitamin B 6, riboflavin, magnesium, copper, and calcium.
Apart from these it has many medicinal uses for curing diseases related to digestion and metabolism ( the pittashodh) , throat infections, rheumatism and the most amazing use is for weight loss.
1. Cut the Flab – Take radish , tomato and carrots leaves with radish everyday during meals , to dissolve the excess fat. Radish helps in cutting flab and it does not let the flab grow even when you eat your regular meals with it. Include excising with this for immediate results.
2. Rheumatism – A ) Radish contains traces of chlorine that helps in curing it . Make juice of ginger, radish and cabbage about 1 cup and give it to the patient who must sit under the sun and drink this juice .
B) Grind radish and fry it in til oil (sesame seed oil ) , then massage over affected body parts and wrap with a soft cloth. After a week ask the patient to walk with help of someone to reap the benefits.
3. Throat Infections – For mouth or throat ulcers , heat some water in a vessel and mix same amount of radish juice in that warm water . Add salt as per the quantity of the solution. Like if it is one cup then add 1/4 th teaspoon of salt . Gargle with this solution after every hour , just 3 times gargle would lead to results.
4. Pittadosha ( Digestion & Metabolic Problems) – Make juice of radish and drink this to cleanse the stomach and help in effective metabolism of body. The indigestion also results in acne and pimples on face , for this you can rub over the leftover pulp of radish on the acne marks , do this for three days to see the results.
